It is with considerable disappointment and regret that I have had to cancel this year’s Engineering Managers in Universities conference. There appear to be a number of factors at work not least the imminent reduction in funds to the sector prompting institutions to make economies. Presumably a conference such as this is regarded as a desirable. From such return correspondence as has been received, it would also seem that some of our strongest supporters are leaving their employment for one reason or another. The long and short of it is – insufficient numbers.

I hope that this has not caused you too much inconvenience. What Steve Duffy has suggested is that we make time to go to a HEaTED meeting which is set for
